Students may be placed on Non-Academic Probation for one year (subsequent 2 semesters of full-time enrollment, plus summer if applicable) if they are found responsible for non-academic progression violations.

Non-Academic progressions violations may stem from failure to comply with policies as stated in the PharmD Student Handbook, PharmD Technical Standards, and/or the University Student Code of Conduct.

Non-Academic Probation may include (but is not limited to):

  1. Completion of an educational requirement.
  2. Participation in treatment, counseling, community service, or additional education requirements.
  3. Inability to hold leadership positions at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy including Student Senate, recognized ESOP student organizations, Peer Mentors, and RAP Ambassadors.
  4. Loss of scholarships offered through the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Foundation Office.
  5. Ineligibility for Dual-Degree and Certificate programs and/or Academic Scholars programs offered through the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Pending completion of the required year of probation and any assigned sanctions, the student may return to non-probationary status, assuming no further concerns have been shared with the Scholastic Achievement and Progressions Committee.

Students that have not completed required sanctions and/or have additional violations may be subject to dismissal.
